Read in french Using our multimedia training database requires some sort on Internet access. But in emerging countries Internet prices are actually disproportioned to people purchasing power. Moreover Internet is simply not available in many provinces, due to insufficient network coverage. With the financial help of the Netadded European Project, we have connected various schools and training centers in the Takeo province to some schools and universities in Phnom Penh inside two High Speed Wireless Wide Area Private
The satellite link is provided by the local operator (Camshin). It is a shared access at 512kbps Downlink/ 256kbps Uplink and exhibits marginal performance with respect to roundtrip delay, packet loss and downtime. However the wireless connections (pre Wimax) at each location are 3Mbps bidirectional covering a 15km cell radius with virtually zero delay and packet loss.
Our content database is located on a central server in Phnom Penh and replicated on a server in Angtasom to remove the dependency on the satellite link and enable fast access locally.
