Read this article in french In many emerging countries, millions of children live in very difficult conditions : lack of food, lack of healthcare, insecurity (sometimes even within the family) lack of education, obligation to work. In the most extreme cases, some children are orphans, abandoned, living on the street, and have to prostitute themselves to survive. These countries public authorities and many non governmental organisations try to help by covering the most fundamental needs: food, health, security and education. But their mission is really only complete once these children have a job and are inserted professionally in their society.
Recognizing this crucial need for training, our organisation fundamental mission is to supply training to children in emerging countries to enable their professional insertion. To that end our organisation: Supplies to local teachers: courses, exercises (both theoretical and hands on), evaluation tests and their corrections. Identifies, finances and sends engineers abroad to get trainings started as well as to install distant learning equipment for pilot projects Helps train the local teachers who express such desire on lessons and themes where they need help. Provides “on line” training to local students at the request of their teachers Helps establishing professional curriculum, for instance (but not exclusively) in the domain of electronics, computers and networks
Resources: In some remote places of emerging countries, schools may lack electricity, telecommunications infrastructures, and eventually competent teachers. In order to still provide the intended services, our organisation develops and installs locally technology solutions to connect these schools to the Internet and to telephony thereby enabling distant learning. These solutions may comprise:
One or more Computer classes An autonomous power supply system An antenna and a modem enabling wireless Internet connection SW tools to create, modify, store and give lessons and exercises according to various training methods.
It is NOT our organisation mission to replace local teachers, but to help them do their job by supplying them modern tools and training material, enabling them to train themselves, to better prepare their lessons or to enable a distant learning session if needed, thereby enhancing the overall education experience for the children.
